surface book battery drain while shut down

I have been noticing that when I shutdown my surface book, when I power it on the next day the battery has drained some. If I leave it off for a couple of days it will drain down from 100% to around 85% or lower.

I disabled fast startup... and then just decided to disable hibernation altogether. That didn't help.

I have windows hello disabled, but that shouldn't matter anyway since I'm shutting it down, not sleeping.

Some searching and I found a general windows 10 issue with the "Intel Management Engine Interface" driver. Some say that v11 can cause this issue. One solution that I have seen suggested is to go into device manager and in the power management tab for this device uncheck the option that allows windows to power it down to save power. I tried that and it didn't help.

Others have suggested downgrading the driver from v11 to v9 or v10, but I don't know where to get v9 or v10 of this driver that is compatible with the surface book. Anyone know if one of the downloads on Intel's site would be compatible?

So, has anyone else noticed this issue and know of a fix?

    They stole our money and today is 12/21/2015 no help what the **** . if the problem from the laptops why they do not allow us to return it and get our money back no matter where you buy it Microsoft still responsible for this problem.

    I am confused. I have read this post. I am having the exact same problem (battery drain after Total Shutdown). This problem has been intermittent since I bout the Surface Book about 4 weeks ago.

    The confusing part is that Microsoft doesn't seem compelled to weigh in here. This is a serious problem for those of us that have it. My drain was 28% from a full charge over a 4 hour period during which the machine was completely shutdown via WinKey+X  U U

    I have been thinking of purchasing a Surface Book and checking to see what problems exist.

    I have a Surface Pro 2, 256 Gb SSD, 8 Gb Ram and have experienced the same type of drain with it shutdown.  I have also noted, while I have it in shutdown mode, using a Bluetooth Ear Bud for my phone which I also use for the computer, that I quite often get a "Computer Connected" and then some time later, probably 10 to 20 seconds, "Computer Disconnected".  Thus, some things are still running while shutdown.  After about 5 days of being shutdown, my battery is exhausted.  I am up to date on Updates.

    It is normal to take few days for the battery to get calibrated. The number of hours reported in the first few days are not reliable. I am getting about 10-11 hours after few weeks.

    The drain you saw, can you find out in the event log that anything happened? I had a similar problem which turns out to be some scheduled tasks by certain software.

    I agree with above post. I think it's become acceptable for people to say "well nothing is perfect and all machines do this or that" .  

    It's the low expectations or our willingness to pay this kind of money and just come to expect these things to happen.  And you know what? Who can blame Apple and MS for this?  I mean, judging from some willing to accept mediocrity, people are just willing to accept it and move on.  Must be awesome to have $2000 lying around with a shrug of the shoulders. 

    So go ahead.  Talk away about all the issues everyone experiencing with 1st Gen devices and how we should "expect" this kind of performance.  

    Guess  just expect more from a $2000 device. 

    It's this kind of acceptance of mediocrity that permeates our society lately as well.
