surface book battery drain while shut down

I have been noticing that when I shutdown my surface book, when I power it on the next day the battery has drained some. If I leave it off for a couple of days it will drain down from 100% to around 85% or lower.

I disabled fast startup... and then just decided to disable hibernation altogether. That didn't help.

I have windows hello disabled, but that shouldn't matter anyway since I'm shutting it down, not sleeping.

Some searching and I found a general windows 10 issue with the "Intel Management Engine Interface" driver. Some say that v11 can cause this issue. One solution that I have seen suggested is to go into device manager and in the power management tab for this device uncheck the option that allows windows to power it down to save power. I tried that and it didn't help.

Others have suggested downgrading the driver from v11 to v9 or v10, but I don't know where to get v9 or v10 of this driver that is compatible with the surface book. Anyone know if one of the downloads on Intel's site would be compatible?

So, has anyone else noticed this issue and know of a fix?

    After 8 hours in hibernate after disconnecting, I was still at 100%. However 15 hours of shutdown left me at 96%. Odd, but it seems like hibernate is the best option for now.

    FWIW, I left both a surface book and a Macbook 12 shutdown for a week. Today when I boot both up, SB battery is at 63% and MB is at 72%. SB is not as good but still reasonable. 

    Spoke too soon, the winner is a Dell XPS 13 (windows 8). Same week, 99% battery remains.

    I removed sleep from the shutdown list, disabled fast start up, and set shutdown to happen for lid closing and the power button.  Sleep is only an option for the sleep button, and I don't even know where that is.

    I've been paying attention to battery levels from the evening to the morning and so far I haven't seen any more then a 1% loss overnight.

    I'm having this problem too.  I shut down my Surface Book for 24 hours and Battery 2 (the tablet battery) drops about 15%.  This is with the Surface Book completely shut down, it was NOT in sleep mode, and NOT in Hibernate, it was completely shut down.  15% per day when completely turned off is a ridiculous amount of battery drain.

    I later did a test with Hibernate, and it has the same battery drain.

    I have all of the latest updates installed.

    Could this be a driver or firmware issue?  Or is this a hardware issue, like a bad run of batteries?  It seems like hardware to me, not sure how they could fix this with a firmware update, but maybe.

    I usually leave my Surface Book plugged in and in Hibernate.  So does this mean that my battery is quickly draining all of the time, and constantly charging back up?  What kind of further damage is that doing to the battery?

    $1800 is hard to swallow with this kind of issue.
