surface book battery drain while shut down

I have been noticing that when I shutdown my surface book, when I power it on the next day the battery has drained some. If I leave it off for a couple of days it will drain down from 100% to around 85% or lower.

I disabled fast startup... and then just decided to disable hibernation altogether. That didn't help.

I have windows hello disabled, but that shouldn't matter anyway since I'm shutting it down, not sleeping.

Some searching and I found a general windows 10 issue with the "Intel Management Engine Interface" driver. Some say that v11 can cause this issue. One solution that I have seen suggested is to go into device manager and in the power management tab for this device uncheck the option that allows windows to power it down to save power. I tried that and it didn't help.

Others have suggested downgrading the driver from v11 to v9 or v10, but I don't know where to get v9 or v10 of this driver that is compatible with the surface book. Anyone know if one of the downloads on Intel's site would be compatible?

So, has anyone else noticed this issue and know of a fix?

    You managed to pick out a post I made 9 months ago for a comment? The state of the operating system has changed quite a bit from that time. 

    Nine months ago connected standby was not working the way it should and I was getting no battery drain while completely turned off. I had to totally shut down overnight back then because Sleep/Hibernate didn't work at all.

    Since the June 20th update Sleep/Hibernate is working like it should and connected standby is working like it should. I no longer totally shut down and Sleep/Hibernate is now reliable. There is a small battery drain while sleeping, just as there should be during connected standby. At this point in time I can easily get through a work day when away from my office and on battery.

    I'm sorry you are having problems. Being an early adopter, from the day the Surface Book was first released, I've gone through the same frustrations as everyone else. Today my Surface Book is finally working the way it should have when I first got it.

    As was stated in the question asked in November of 2015, the issue is power drain when the computer is off, not while in stand-by.  I'm sure you're a nice guy Gary, but the information you've added is irrelevant.

    Shame on you, BB, you sold your Surface Book just before the last of the outstanding issues were fixed! I hope you didn't suffer much of a monetary loss.

    Maybe I should have brought it to a store. I always had some hope over the year that next "fix" coming out will fix everything. But at some point I had to stop messing with the laptop and  focus on my main job.  I switch to a lenovo x1 yoga. So far 0 problem there. I am using the SB as a "desktop" now since I also invested a surface dock.

    Yes I thank everyone on this forum taking time to provide their valuable input. I have to say this maybe the best user forum of any product i have used, albeit no one has real solutions to these problems.

    I'll have to agree with you that studying a 5% drop in battery in 30 minutes while sleeping is not worth it. Consider the possibility that the Surface Book battery reporting algorithm may not be accurate. The only thing that means something to me is how my Surface Book actually performs. My Surface Book really does work reliably all day on battery when I'm out of the office using default Sleep/Hibernate.

    If your Surface Book will not make it through a long workday on battery then something is wrong. I'm located in Atlanta, GA and I'm close to two Microsoft Stores. With the problems I've had as an early adopter, my Microsoft Stores have actually replaced my Surface Book three different times. However I know now that each of those replacements were not necessary and the problems were fixed over time by updates. If you actually have a defective Surface Book they should replace it. Your Surface Book should work as advertised at this point in time.
