surface book battery drain while shut down

I have been noticing that when I shutdown my surface book, when I power it on the next day the battery has drained some. If I leave it off for a couple of days it will drain down from 100% to around 85% or lower.

I disabled fast startup... and then just decided to disable hibernation altogether. That didn't help.

I have windows hello disabled, but that shouldn't matter anyway since I'm shutting it down, not sleeping.

Some searching and I found a general windows 10 issue with the "Intel Management Engine Interface" driver. Some say that v11 can cause this issue. One solution that I have seen suggested is to go into device manager and in the power management tab for this device uncheck the option that allows windows to power it down to save power. I tried that and it didn't help.

Others have suggested downgrading the driver from v11 to v9 or v10, but I don't know where to get v9 or v10 of this driver that is compatible with the surface book. Anyone know if one of the downloads on Intel's site would be compatible?

So, has anyone else noticed this issue and know of a fix?

    Yeah 1% is pretty normal for Li battery natural discharge.

    By comparison I did the same test (albeit using hibernate, which should be equivalent to shutdown) and lost 10% in 8 hours.

    I don't know how one would account for the huge difference, but I set my i7, 16GB, 512GB, for Hibernate yesterday and closed the lid last night to Hibernate.

    I was at 100%battery when I closed the lid last night and this morning, 8 hours later, when I opened up, I was at the same 100%.  I'll give it another try tonight and see what I get.

    1% is nothing. My MacBook Pro used to do the same, I think 1% is very reasonable and probably normal, imho. We just need a proper fix so we can stop doing these workarounds.

    Long press shutdown did nothing to alleviate battery drain while completely off. I dropped from 83-82% in 8 hours while the SB was completely shutdown.

    Why aren't you guys testing things on your end as to why this is happening in the laptops, instead of us having to do the grunt work?

    Typically I'll open the lid, then need to tap the power button to get it out of hibernate. After doing that about 20-30% of the time nothing happens on the screen, so I touch the trackpad and the keys light up, meaning I did actually press the button, then wait a minute or so and still nothing on the screen. Then I have to do a hard reset to get it running again. Out of the times it does turn on properly, about 10-20% of THAT time some of the windows displayed are either missing chunks that should be displayed, or blacked out, or the system tray program icons become invisible. Sometimes the track pad doesn't work until I detach and re-attach, and sometimes it's just very laggy and eventually freezes up, causing me to have to do a hard restart anyway. I'm not sure what forum it was in, but I did find a thread that several other people had the same problems when waking from hibernate. 

    It might be about time for me to try to get a new one. I was waiting because I assumed they were going to be out of stock until about now anyway, given that the pre-orders hadn't all been filled.
