Surface Pro 4, annoying noise from the back!

Hi,

From what you have described it sounds like I have the exact same issue.  I also have a SP3 and have never hear this sound from that device. I don't think it is just your ears, at times the noise is very noticeable.

The only thing I seem to have noticed is that the noise gets louder on web pages that have either video or animated ads.  Unless that was just my imagination.

When you were in the store previously did you happen to check out the SP4 demo units there to see if they make the noise too?

For some reason I didn't think of looking at the other units, maybe because I just assumed I had a bad one (or more likely because I had time constraints at the time and just goofed).  Anyhow, I am definitely going to look at other units to see if it is just me or not.  I'm hoping that some more people will mention whether they are having this issue too, just so I can mention it to the tech I speak with in a couple days.  I definitely appreciate that you've jumped in here!  :-D

Also, my separate thread regarding a high-pitched noise has been folded into this thread.  Does anyone have any further ideas about what could be causing this high-pitched sound?

Can someone explain why the back of my surface pro 4 (only when the brightness isn't 0% or 100%) makes a noise?

For example, when it is on 25% of brightness it starts making a strange noise slight like a whistling...

Can someone help me?

Can we confirm what model Surface Pro 4 everyone is having this high-pitched noise with?  I would like to figure out whether the high-pitched noise has anything to do with model.  I have the Core i5 4GB/128GB version

This could be linked to the audio devices (speakers). I mean the sound/noise generated from other hardware modules (graphics, touch...) could be bleeding through the speakers while scrolling web pages with rich contents, watching videos, high brightness settings, white screen contents...

Try muting the audio and check it if you can still here the noise.

I would suggest replacing the device otherwise.
