New update 1/27 did not fix this problem. I am on my 5th Surface Pro 4 because of it. As much as I love what I have (i5 256 gb) I will be returning it. For the amount of money that is spent of this high class machine, I expect these types of problems to be non existant.
Surface Pro 4, annoying noise from the back!
Can someone explain why the back of my surface pro 4 (only when the brightness isn't 0% or 100%) makes a noise?
For example, when it is on 25% of brightness it starts making a strange noise slight like a whistling...
Can someone help me?

2016-01-28T05:34:12+00:00 I am just curious to read any reply from Microsoft here, this is a very important issue.
I honestly myself have 2 SP4 procured at launch date (i5/8RAM/512GB) without any issues.

2016-01-28T05:43:31+00:00 I am interested to see if this "noise" is related to some factors and it might help with troubleshooting:
- Does it happen when on battery? Plugged? or both?
- Does it happens with touch only? or touch and mouse? Pen?
- Does it happen with specific app(s).
- Does it happen in a combination of the above?
- Is the noise higher when brightness is lower or higher?

2016-01-28T16:16:33+00:00 The noise increases when the brightness level is between 25 and 75%. When the brightness is turned all the way up to 100 it disappears and when the brightness is turned down to 0, it also disappears. It is something that I hope Microsoft is looking into, because I truly love this device. The High-pitched scratching noise / coil whine; can be changed by touching the screen, or changing what content is displayed on the screen.
