Surface Pro 4, annoying noise from the back!

For some reason I didn't think of looking at the other units, maybe because I just assumed I had a bad one (or more likely because I had time constraints at the time and just goofed).  Anyhow, I am definitely going to look at other units to see if it is just me or not.  I'm hoping that some more people will mention whether they are having this issue too, just so I can mention it to the tech I speak with in a couple days.  I definitely appreciate that you've jumped in here!  :-D

From what you have described it sounds like I have the exact same issue.  I also have a SP3 and have never hear this sound from that device. I don't think it is just your ears, at times the noise is very noticeable.

The only thing I seem to have noticed is that the noise gets louder on web pages that have either video or animated ads.  Unless that was just my imagination.

When you were in the store previously did you happen to check out the SP4 demo units there to see if they make the noise too?

Hi there!  Yeah, I am very curious also whether this issue is fixable with a firmware release.  I am going to a Microsoft Store again this Thursday to see what can be done.  I really hope it is fixable, because I would hate to have to have another replacement.  Part of the problem is trying to figure out whether my ears are just more sensitive, or whether this is actually a problem with the devices.  The only thing that makes me think this is a device issue is that I didn't have this problem with my SP3, but now I'm having it with the SP4.

Is your device having the same exact problem as I described in my previous post?  Is there anything else you have figured out that makes the problem better/worse?

It would be great to know if there will be a firmware fix for this issue or if the device needs to be returned/replaced.

Hi y'all!  I recently purchased a Surface Pro 4 i5 128GB and immediately noticed that the tablet produces a weird high-pitched noise that my previous Surface Pro 3 did not emit.  The noise is not easy to hear if there is a lot of ambient sound in the room; however, when I'm in a quiet room using my Surface to study, the noise is unbearable.  I should note that this high-pitched noise is NOT the fan - in fact, the high-pitched noise is so annoying that I actually cause my Surface to work harder so the fans kick in so it is harder to hear the high-pitched noise.  The noise is loudest above the camera sensors, along the right upper edge of the tablet (to the right of the camera), and below the charging port.  The only thing that I have found that affects this high-pitched noise is adjusting the screen brightness - the sound is most quiet at 0% or 100% brightness, and progressively louder from 25% to 75% brightness.

After talking with a Microsoft tech on the phone (who was unable to resolve the issue other than ruling out a sound/speaker issue), I took the tablet in to a Microsoft Store and replaced it for a new one of the same model.  However, after booting up this replacement unit, I am having the same exact issue.

I would like to ask - is anyone else having this problem?  If so, what model of Surface Pro 4 are you using?  Also, has anyone been able to fix the problem?  Thank you for your assistance!
