It was suggested that I open a new thread for this issue that I am having.

Since the Win 10 Anniversary update, I was not able to turn on my Surface Pro 3 i7 512GB with LGC LGC Battery without having it plugged in with the power supply or docking (I own a total of Three Surface Pro 3 Docks at home and 2 offices). It always said "82%, Plugged in, Not Charging", and would always instantly turn off once I pulled off the power supply tab.

I had spoke with a Technical Agent online, had my Pro 3 remote accessed, did all the proposed solutions, and even had a call from Bellevue, WA (I live in Hong Kong) before I found out that it was a software issue as stated by Microsoft.

With Auto Update turned on, I was notified that I should restart my Pro 3 this morning while I was on the docking station. I was happy that this issue was going to be resolved, but now I am disappointed that this firmware update did nothing for my Pro 3.

I'm hoping that someone out there has some suggestions.

    I haven't tried uninstalling the battery driver because I assumed that it was a calibration problem. I posted as a separate thread because the post at the top of this thread didn't seem to relate in any way to my problem. I then got an email saying that it had been moved to a Discussion thread, then another saying that it had been moved again to a Question thread, and that I should have posted it as a Question in the first place - which I had. So I'm more confused than ever.

    You say something different is happening here, and I can believe that. But it started the next time I used the Surface after the firmware update was installed.

    Last night I uninstalled the battery driver without deleting it and then restarted. I took the Surface out today to use on-the-go and got about an hour and a half use before it shut down. In other words, nothing seems to have changed.

    The firmware was for Simplo batteries only. Something different is happening here. Have you tried uninstalling the battery driver (don't delete it) and restarting?

    The recent firmware update was installed on my Surface Pro 3 although it has the LGC battery. Before the update, I was getting over 4 hours from the battery. Now I'm lucky if it goes over 1 and a half hours before turning itself off. I've tried running the battery down now and again and recharging and it has crept up from about 1'20" to about 1'30" but I was expecting it to calibrate faster that it has.

    Is there anything I can do about this?
