So, love my Surface Pro 3. However, I'm having some issues with the screen and wanted to see how common they are. There's a yellow hazy line down the left-hand side of the screen, about 1/4 of an inch think or so, I'm not sure if was there when purchased my unit shortly after launch or if it's developed in the meantime. It also might be getting worse, but it's hard to tell. I'll note that the screen also shows distortion along this same line when applying pressure on a dark backlit screen (e.g., the boot screen), and that might indicate some kind of adhesion issue that's letting light through. I don't think it's an adhesive issue, but it could be, I suppose; of so, then it's not going away and again I don't remember seeing it when I purchased the machine. Perhaps related, perhaps not, I also have a yellow tint to the left half of the screen. Again, I don't know if this is new or not, or if I just noticed it and now can't un-see it. Anybody else having these issues? I know of at least a few other people who have #1, and I just want to have a sense of whether it's worth swapping out at this point or waiting until some of these hardware kinks are worked out. I have the Microsoft Complete warranty, and so I don't anticipate any issues with swapping for a new replacement at some point. If it's a common issue, however, I don't want to swap until Microsoft has had a chance to fix it.

take anything you're told on eBay with a grain of salt. caveat emptor. not a known issue for massive amounts of people you won't know the real warranty until you get the serial number and attempt to register it. we don't know if it will get worse If it were me, I'd stay away from this "deal". anything that looks too good to be true...

After reading all the story's of it being very common I never dared to go though the hassle of exchanging it (I bought it through a large Dutch electronics store not the Microsoft store) Now recently I started noticing the yellow haze / line actually getting worse (up to the point of constantly drawing attention) and a yellow haze is also forming on the right side of the screen. I am very concerned that this will only grow worse! Is anybody experiencing the same? Also the backlight bleeding of the screen in dark screens is might slowly getting worse (was already pretty severe but I could manage it). Any known solutions to keep the discoloration from getting worse? This is really driving me insane lately. Pim

other folks with this issue have gone to a Microsoft Store and exchanged their

SP3's. if these yellow lines are present when the machine is cool, then get it

exchanged as quickly as you can.
