I exchanged so far SIX (!!!) Surface Pro 3: 3 units at London Drugs, 1 from a private, and 2 with Microsoft Support directly.
ALL and I repeat ALL of them had the yellow band. Some more, some less but they all had it.
At the end I even went through the "special" Microsoft Care Team which took care of my last replacement.
Needless too say, that unit has yellow band **** well.
The person that took care of my case told me that further exchanges were useless because ALL Surface Pro 3 suffer from this issue.
So I settled for the one where the issue was less pronounced.
I have to say though that it would me much more ethically correct if all the Microsoft Surface support employees were trained to say how things are right away, instead of wasting people time.
Even better would be if the consumer could know about the issue BEFORE they actually buy the product.
Now, even if I wanted to, I cannot get my money back.
It's a shame, because the Surface Pro 3 is a great, great product.
