It appears some people are experiencing a problem where it appears the SP4 is now hibernating earlier than the setting you have enabled via Settings/Control Panel. MS did make a change recently to the OS that enables an Adaptive Hibernate by default. Details
in the article below.

That was great info! Now, Microsoft have apparently gone out of their way to make this non-discoverable for mere customers like me, but I was able to see that my StandbyBudgetPercent was 5%, meaning that the SP4 would hibernate after losing
5% battery charge. However, in my experience it's more like 1% (see my update below). I'm changing it to 10% to and also disable UserPresencePrediction and we'll see what happens.
Tip: I couldn't use POWERCFG to query the values for these new parameters. In fact, I'm not able to query
any single setting, except all at once with the /QUERY flag without any GUIDs. The good news is that if you're willing to muck around in your registry, yo,u can "unhide" these and other settings from the Power Settings UI in the Control Panel. Just
go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\8619B916-E004-4dd8-9B66-DAE86F806698, which is the hidden SUB_PRESENCE group and change the value of the Attributes keys for individual settings (one level down) from 1 (hidden)
to 2 (visible). Then, open advanced power settings and tweak the values to your heart's content. (In fact, you can unhide all power settings that have been hidden on a standard SP4 install this way.)
Update: According to POWERCFG /SLEEPSTUDY, the system dozes to hibernation because "the user was predicted to be away" after only 30 minutes. Does this mean that you can't leave your PC on a table for more than 1/2 hour before it hibernates?
That's absurd! In what way is this "Modern Standby", which is the fancy new word for the fancy new feature that probably is what makes waking from sleep such a gamble?
