Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

I already returned a SP4 because of screen flicker and wake from screen issues. I am wondering now, if I buy another SP4 and the issues are not completely resolved and I decide to return it, will I be able to return it? MS won't "blacklist" me for returning two device? or do you guys think I should wait until these 2 problems are 100% resolved?

I get the devices with my student account so I am assuming they can see a full history of my purchases.

So you just deleted the typecover in the device manager. Can you use the typecover after that? Or does the keyboard item in the device manager come back again after you use the typecover?

I think my problem may be solved. I've put it to sleep around 10 times now with no issue waking up.

Here's what support had me to do.
1. Run Windows Update and install all the latest updates. You may have to run it many times depending on when you updated last.
2. Open Device Manager and remove these items under Keyboard.
HID Keyboard Device

Surface Type Filter Device
1. Reboot.
It's been less than a day of testing but it looks very good so far. I am using all the default power settings. I noticed this morning when I opened the keyboard it didn't light up so I pushed the power button and it came out of hibrenate mode pretty quickly. Remember the default setting is 2 hours after the lid is closed. I'm am not convinced the issues are over so I'll post back in a day or so with an update.

I can never be sure what is going to appear when I open the Surface Pro 4, especially if it has been plugged in.

Sometimes I can wake it with touching a key on the key board. Usually I can wake it by pushing the power button for a few seconds. Sometimes I have to push the power button for a long time.

Sometimes the screen is just like I left it. Other times I have multiple windows open. Some of them were not open before I put the computer to sleep.

Today I had a Chrome print screen open and ready to print a 31 page document of computer gibberish. There were about 10 windows open and they would not respond to Xing them out.
