Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    There isn't, I'm about tired of this POS device when it comes to sleep. Just follow the last 50 pages of this thread, we're all feeling the same pain you are, and have spent 10's to 100's of hours individually trying to resolve this. Much more than the cost of the device itself.

    My surface Pro 4 is fully updated as of 4/24/2016 and it still freezes in sleep mode every other time I want to bring up the screen after I've pressed the lock button or closed the keyboard cover to turn off the screen. I have to hold the power button for 30 seconds until I see the dimly lit screen go off then hold it again to turn back on. It's really annoying. I want to just be able to just bring up my screen again after I've locked it without having to reboot because that shuts down everything I have open on my screen. Having to reboot every other time I need to use it is really annoying and I don't want to have to return this computer. Is there any way to fix this?

    In fact here is a refresh...I have lot #1541, just did a Reset this PC and kept my files. I've had one fail from sleep already, and last night after it went to sleep on it's own it was out of power when I woke up, and hadn't hibernated, but crashed.

    Here is the CPU-Z details, which is what matters. We need to see if the people who ARE NOT having problems have an updated stepping/revision for their CPU, Mainboard, or Graphics

    What matters is the stepping/revision of the hardware, etc... No one else posted it, only two of us. Which tells me, either the people on here aren't that technical, or they just don't can't be bothered anymore. It's easy to do though.

    See page 169 of the thread...that's where we really start to scratch the surface (pun intended) of the hardware issue that could be plaguing machines.
