Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    I agree, it's an amazing device. I use it as my tablet, laptop, and desktop. Love the keyboard too.

    That said, the sleep thing is a killer along with battery life. I'm willing to deal with quirks here and there, as long are they are getting fixed. This machine though, while it has gotten better in many way, it has also gotten terribly worse since I excitedly did a check for windows update on 2/17 after seeing a big firmware update had come out. Up until then all the update improved the system.

    And now, after I decided to try out the MSI thing for the heck of it as another blogger suggested, my surface is glitchy when scrolling the web, and locks up every once in a while. I'm about tired of this nonsense, I just don't have the time for it. Not when I have an HP laptop I paid $400 for 4 years ago sitting in my closet that was 100% reliable.

    I am still having trouble after the update. When surface pro sleeps when connected to power and wakes up on batter is having issue. Batter performance has been improved with the update but wake up problem is still there, will continue my testing and will report again

    I have lot#/date# 1541, got mine on day 1. This is a great idea, as we can now identify when we return the hardware, if the new hardware will work for us. If they won't or can't do the logical troubleshooting or engineering, we'll have to.

    I think we also should include the Graphics tab, as it could be related to that revision as well. I have no doubt it's Intel, which is probably why Microsoft is so quiet.
