Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    Hey guys, 

    I also found this update like a week ago, and after installing it things seem to work a bit better (not so frequent cases of coming "not being able to come back from sleep" for example).

    BUT... I am noticing that since I installed it, the fan seems to be pretty much always on, and the Surface is generating more heat than usual. Anybody else noticing this?

    Yes, I discovered this download a couple of minutes ago too. Funny it has the older drivers, seeing as the date says 15-12-16, which is one day before the December 17 update.

    Anyway, these issues are really annoying. These days, I get BSOD or a turn-on-to-restart (probably a BSOD with the screen turned off) at least once every two days, probably more often. My Event Log is full of device failures, driver errors and kernel power errors. In a closed system, mind you, not a custom-built PC. The screen often does not turn on. I used the newer Intel-supplied drivers as well as the MS-shipped drivers and there may have been differences, but both came with VERY annoying issues.

    I used hibernate with disabled Connected Standby as well as Connected Standby enabled (HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\CsEnabled [1/0] -> restart). Both for at least 10 days. Both scenarios caused blue screens, choppy video playback in Edge or high processor usage when a YouTube page is open in Edge (playing or not) and other errors.

    I am getting tired of this.

    One glimmer of hope which should have been shared by MS and not by accidental discovery: Surface Pro 3 just received a driver update for a lot of hardware: https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/support/install-update-activate/pro-3-update-history

    If there are any hardware similarities between the two, I have my fingers crossed for a fix for SP4 soon. If not, I'll finally give up and get a Dell XPS 13 or something like that instead. This is just sad :(

    The one that was rolling back one of the f**ked up drivers from December 2015 ;).

    So yes technically it's November driver - exact version: 20.19.15.4326 (20.11.2015) - it was rolled back on Jan 6th on my SP4. During the late December I had the worst one (until this "silent" rollback) not mentioned in the update history. Fun fact:
