Surface Pro 4 - Screen won't wake from sleep

I received my Surface Pro 4 today and it worked fine. I put it on "sleep" for awhile, came back and turned it on. Once again it worked fine. I made an error and instead of putting it on "sleep" I  hit the power button to turn it off when I finished. Now it won't come on at all. The screen stays dark. If I push the power button I can see lights under the keyboard keys, then if I hit the power switch again they go off. But nothing happens to the screen no matter what I do. Has anyone else suffered from this?

It works fine for me after the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 Pro (Version 1607). It no longer goes into a coma.

I just traveled all week. Put my Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to sleep 10 to 20 times each day, and currently my task manager shows the up time to be 7:21:35:21 - 7 days! It is actually working the way I expected it to when I bought it!

It was such a relief to not be scared to put it to sleep during meeting breaks to save battery when working with my Pen and OneNote. For the past 7 months I've had to have it on power when in meetings so that it wouldn't go into a coma. That was always so embarrassing.

You can update to the latest version of Windows 10 by opening Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and selecting Check for updates.

    Sometimes my screen won't turn on on my Surface Pro 4 after standby, has anyone else seeing this, any suggestions?

    Here's an example...  earlier this morning I was working just fine, but I to run to a meeting. Closed the type cover, got to the meeting, opened the type cover and the screen is off.  The red "hello" detector light comes on and sound works, so my Surface is on and processing, but no screen. 

    The only way I can get it working again is to hold the power button in for 12 seconds or so to force a power reset.

    This is really annoying as it happens often.

    Please help?

    Thanks. I knew about using Hibernation instead of Sleep, but before  I went that route I tried the recovery and that fixed my no wake up from sleep problem.

    I am curious to know if everyone experiencing the no wake from sleep is using the Surface Dock as I suspect that may be changing some settings when you first use it. Mine is stable now and I will use it for a couple days before I try the Surface Dock again. 

    My biggest problem right now is a scrolling issue. My screen keeps snapping back to the top of a web page or document when I am scrolling through it. Frustrating IE, Edge and PDF's do it.

    One fix is to avoid sleep and use hibernation.

    The other seems to be manually adding the new driver.

    The problems noted there seem odd.  Someone now had a problem with hibernation, and NOT sleep?

    Someone else seemed to find that the new drivers were not working well with 2 monitors. 

    I have a docking station, and often use my large monitor alone.  I use hibernation, occasionally sleep only for less than an hours, with no problems over a couple weeks.

    Well I can confirm that the old three finger salute of CTRL+ALT+DEL is the most reliable way of waking up after the case is closed.

    I always get the 'do you want to enter tablet mode' toast as well. The 2 buttons do not respond to touch, pointer or keyboard but the X close works.
