Scanners that work with Microsoft ARM processer

I bought a Microsoft Surface Laptop last week. Got everything set up and then realized my ScanSnap scanner was not working with the new laptop. I called them and they said none of their scanners work with the ARM Processer in my laptop. Does anyone know what brand of scanners DO work with the ARM processer??? This is a HUGE problem for me. I am almost paperless and scan things all the time.

    Thanks Tien Lee for your super helpful post. I am pleased to say my old Canon imageClass MF4800 scanner has sprung into life on the new Surface Laptop 7 with VueScan. If you can get through the tortuous process of disabling MS's Driver Signature Enforcement you're there.

    ARM64 is the consumer SKU, right? Lunar Lake (x86) is the business SKU, right? IT IS INEXCUSABLE that a CONSUMER has to do backflips disabling signature driving to get an ESSENTIAL hardware to work with ARM64. To me it is absolute proof that M$ doesn't give flip about ARM64 - it was totally a ruse to get Intel off its backside and up its processor and NPU game to back M$'s (mis)adventure into AI.

    In fact, is M$'s strong-arm abandonment of Windows 10 really for security and improvements in Windows 11, or is it to pressure users into Copilot and enhancing their bankroll?

    PS - this is why I'm typing this on a M4 MacBook Pro after DOS/Windows since my Toshiba T1100 in 1986. Apple's ARM based processors can handle ALL my printers, scanners, and other devices, and they only have a fraction of the market compared to x86.

    I agree entirely.

    My ESPON portable scanner ES-50 cannot connect with my SURFACE 7.

    Maybe you are all right about moving away from MICROSOFT altogether.

    Surface ARM sucks and no support from Microsoft. Do not buy this as half your apps won't work and you won't get support from Microsoft or from the 3rd party software or 3rd party OEM's.

    Hallo zusammen,

    hat jemand Erfahrungen mit VueScan? Wurde mir soeben von der scansnapit in Bezug auf meinen ScanSnap500 empfohlen als Treiberersatz / Software.
