Surface Pro 7 charger randomly stops working

I bought my Surface Pro 7 about 5 months ago and the charger has been giving me problems for about a month now. It only sometimes charges and it seems to be random when it does. I have to plug and unplug the charger multiple times in multiple outlets around the house in order for the Surface to recognize it, and when it does I have to leave it be because if I move it in any way, it stops charging again. 

Please if anyone has had this problem or has anyone knows what I could do, it would be appreciated. Not sure if the problem is the charger but it is very frustrating since the device is brand new and I haven't even used it for a year.

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community and posting your inquiry.  

To verify if it's a problem with the charger or the charging port, we suggest the following:

• Try a different Surface Charger and check if the issue is resolve.

• Clean the tip of the charger with a cloth, dirt might be blocking the connection. 

• Try the current charger to a different Surface Device.

We recommend following the steps at What to do if your Surface power supply or charger doesn’t work and requesting service if needed.

    Same exact issue. Just bought this POS. I am beyond frustrated. I SPENT ALOT OF DOUGH ON THIS GARBAGE THANKS BILL GATES!

    There is certainly a flaw with these Surface chargers. I have two Surface devices that are less than 2 years old and am now on fifth charger cord. They just seem to stop working for no good reason. Love the Surface Pro, not so in love with the chargers.

    I have the same problem. I have read all the suggestions and nothing works.

    aren't ms obliged to supply a remedy? My sp7 is only 6 months old.

    If so how do i proceed with that claim for a new charger if that is their remedy.

    Hello,

    After reading all these people with the same problem it appears that this is a endemic problem with the SP7.

    I have 4 different chargers and none work, but only at times, one or another might or might not work randomly. I have everything suggested without success. This indicates that the problem is with the SP7 - not the charger.

    Why has MS not addressed this problem with a solution?

    Do they not want us to buy another one?

    My unit is still under guarantee -

    Speak up MS - this is not a time to be silent - This wont go away. PPL do not have money to run around buying this and that because you are selling faulty equipment.

    I AM WAITING TO HEAR FROM YOU!!! But I wont wait for much longer. There are many better and less expensive possibilities out there.
