Surface Pro 7 charger randomly stops working

I bought my Surface Pro 7 about 5 months ago and the charger has been giving me problems for about a month now. It only sometimes charges and it seems to be random when it does. I have to plug and unplug the charger multiple times in multiple outlets around the house in order for the Surface to recognize it, and when it does I have to leave it be because if I move it in any way, it stops charging again. 

Please if anyone has had this problem or has anyone knows what I could do, it would be appreciated. Not sure if the problem is the charger but it is very frustrating since the device is brand new and I haven't even used it for a year.

Hi Patricia Candelario,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community and posting your inquiry.  

To verify if it's a problem with the charger or the charging port, we suggest the following:

• Try a different Surface Charger and check if the issue is resolve.

• Clean the tip of the charger with a cloth, dirt might be blocking the connection. 

• Try the current charger to a different Surface Device.

We recommend following the steps at What to do if your Surface power supply or charger doesn’t work and requesting service if needed.

    There is certainly a flaw with these Surface chargers. I have two Surface devices that are less than 2 years old and am now on fifth charger cord. They just seem to stop working for no good reason. Love the Surface Pro, not so in love with the chargers.

    Same exact issue. Just bought this POS. I am beyond frustrated. I SPENT ALOT OF DOUGH ON THIS GARBAGE THANKS BILL GATES!

    John can we plz get a formal response from Microsoft based on the long history of complaints you can see here from the past several months? This is a serious problem.

    It impresses me that there are 82 complains about exactly the same thing . And one response from MS! 

     It is clear that there is a faulty in your charger supplier. 

    My computer is just about 1 year old and it is happening exactly the same. 

     Would you please contact us with a possible solution ? If you have identified there is a fault on the part - why still sselling the same? 

    It doesnt seem ok to tell to clean the head of teh charger. I believe everyone has tried that.
