Surface Pro 7 charger randomly stops working

I bought my Surface Pro 7 about 5 months ago and the charger has been giving me problems for about a month now. It only sometimes charges and it seems to be random when it does. I have to plug and unplug the charger multiple times in multiple outlets around the house in order for the Surface to recognize it, and when it does I have to leave it be because if I move it in any way, it stops charging again. 

Please if anyone has had this problem or has anyone knows what I could do, it would be appreciated. Not sure if the problem is the charger but it is very frustrating since the device is brand new and I haven't even used it for a year.

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Community and posting your inquiry.  

To verify if it's a problem with the charger or the charging port, we suggest the following:

• Try a different Surface Charger and check if the issue is resolve.

• Clean the tip of the charger with a cloth, dirt might be blocking the connection. 

• Try the current charger to a different Surface Device.

We recommend following the steps at What to do if your Surface power supply or charger doesn’t work and requesting service if needed.

    You are aware that your solution does not solve the problem.

    I wish there is other way to charge it. This ultimately means I am not likely going to buy this product anymore, although I kind of liked it but his power problem every single time is a deal breaker.

    I have had the same charging issue for the past 3 years.. Surface Pro 7 purchased at Costco. I spend at least 10-15 minutes plugging it in and unplugging it (daily) from the charger brick hoping the light will go on. I love the machine but the charging issue is a real problem. I bought the machine so I could take it with me on business travel. Now with this on-going issue, I don't take it with me as I am concerned that the charging will simply stop working and I will be stuck without my travel computer. So much for the convenience of this powerful little machine. It would be nice if Microsoft would send out a new charger to everyone dealing with this issue. They could afford it. This is a real disappoint for this product.. Please help. Send me a new charger. Thank you.

    Well I have a Surface Pro 2, much older than the 7 in this question. However I just had my charger stop operating as well. My son has a Pro 6 so I tried his charger and the light is on and I was able to start the computer up again. When I get a chance I will try my charger on his Pro 6 and see what it does on that computer. Something is really stranger about these Surface Pro chargers.
