Updated...
Hi Rob, do not roll your SP4 back to a previous version. Your SP4 came with a new driver technology called WDI for WIndows 10. Never roll SP4 or Surface book back to a non-wdi driver.
We run tests in house with your exact setup "Comcast device" and are confirming now. For most people the following workaround will work. We do not have any known issues with this device.
For the regkey, here are the instructions
1.Press Windows button. Search for regedit. Open it
- Navigate to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\mrvlpcie8897
- Find the item labeled “TXAMSDU”. Double tap and modify the value from 1 to 0
- Restart the machine
Cause:
We have a known issue with .41 that results in low throughput with specific access points. The issue is specific to MAC layer aggregation (AMSDU over AMPDU) and only impacts a small subset of access points. We are working on a fix for an upcoming update.
Until the fix is available, please update the registry key setting to work around this issue

Thank you for this, but it didn't help me - well, OK, it did a tiny bit, but not enough.
My SP4 is fine on my wifi at home, but next to useless on the wifi at work - I don't maintain that wifi so I have no idea what routers are used.
Before the registry change:
- Connection switching to "Limited" and back again
- connection disappearing completely and coming back
- Repeated failures to download even small files (could not download 2.8MB Crystal Disk Mark - excruciating speeds then download just stops)
- Could not complete a speed test. Starts at over 100Mbps then cascades down to the 30's then just sits there forever and never completes
After the registry change:
- Initially seemed better - I got through the download part of a speedtest, then the upload part got 75& through and stalled forever
- Connection still switching to limited and back
- Connection still disappearing completely and coming back
- If I look in device manager, I actually see the "Marvell AVASTAR" wifi adapter totally disappear and return
I have to ask - WHY are Marvell still being used? I had endless wifi problems with my SP3, and here we go again. This is so utterly disappointing, and just not acceptable for a fourth generation product.
I HOPE this can be properly fixed in software soon. As it stands, my SP4 is not usable at work, period.
