With 8.1 update 1, type/touch cover 2 can now perform double tap-drag. All hail lord Microsoft.
Double tap to left click and drag on trackpad
Hello, I was trying to find a way to click and drag by using the Type Cover 2 trackpad without keeping the left mouse button pressed. Most touchpads nowadays register a rapid double click as a "left click and drag" command and, according to the documentation on Microsoft's website, the Type Cover 2 should as well. However, I tried to use the feature both in Desktop programs and UI apps with no success. How to left click and drag without keeping the trackpad's left mouse button pressed?
Edit: called the customer service, and I was told that the team is aware of the issue and that a fix is planned.

Greetings all,
The “Tap, then tap and slide one finger in any direction" gesture to perform a “left-click and drag” is not supported in Windows 8.1 for precision touchpads such as Touch Cover 2 and Type Cover 2.
The “left-click and drag” function can be performed on Touch Cover 2 and Type Cover 2 by holding the left touchpad button down and then sliding a finger in any direction.
We’ll be updating the inaccurate information in Touchpad: A built-in mouse.

2013-12-05T06:06:59+00:00 OMG. I thought I am the only one with MicroSD problem. I wonder if this is hardware or software problem?!? My boss' Samsung actually is having problem with mouse unresponsive problem as well. Perhaps a Windows 8.1 Issue?
Hello Moujack888
It cant be 8.1 issue as both the Samsung ser 7 slate and surface 2 pro I'm using, have the same 8.1 operating system and as I said these issues have never arisen with the ser 7 slate and I have been using it now for over a year. Initially with win 7 then win 8 then the new 8.1.
go figure!

2013-12-05T05:49:36+00:00 The click and hold on the mouse although slightly annoying isn't too much of an issue for me at least as much as the issues below.
I had the Samsung ser 7 slate win8.1 pro 64GB and previously thought it a good idea to upgrade to the surface2 pro 128GB as the portability of such a system for me is essential ( I live in Dubai and was traveling to the US on a business trip and you cant buy the surface pro 2 in Dubai) Anyway the reason I'm telling you this is that there are 2 major flaws with the surface 2
- The mouse lagging and disconnecting whenever it feels like it (strange the keyboard never disconnects?)
- The micro SD disconnecting every now and then for no apparent reason. Which means I dare not store sensitive information on the SD card)
I'm using the same wedge mouse / Microsoft keyboard and Micro SD Card as I did with the slate of which never had these issues at all.
Its got to such an annoying stage now that I'm seriously thinking of going back to the slate and ditching the surface pro 2, although obviously its not something I want to do after shelling out 1,500 U$D.
Come on Microsoft do something about it!
