Surface Pro Pen pressure sensitivity is not working in photoshop CS6.

I think a lot of companies want to be what the surface pro could have been.  It's even the selling point behind this commercial.

So they know this is a huge feature to tote.  But it's so frustrating that nobody has actually done it yet.  I've been waiting for years, and thought this was finally it.  It's like microsoft ran an 8 mile marathon in the creation of the surface, and slipped on a leaf and broke their back a foot from the finish line.

Apple already has the majority of the market where they want it with touchscreens. I remember reading peoples comments on the Surface Pro prior to its release with people questioning the stylus and calling it unnecessary. The Verge review even said the pen is something "you won't be using very often". And Wacom pretty much owns the artistic community with their Cintiqs and regular tablet lines. Aside from the few Tablet PC's with pen input, there wasn't really a popular "inbetween" which I think we can all agree was what caught our attention with Surface Pro. Its can do a **** lot more than an iPad in terms of art and its like a portable Cintiq (at the time it was an even better deal as the previous 12WX model had a lower resolution and smaller screen size at $1k).

I don't think Apple sees much loss in sales with the artistic community, and seeing as they keep trying to oversimplify things, a pen would be too "ugly" in their eyes next to an iPad. But as you say, things can change, maybe now since Steve isn't here

Yeah. Now that I re-read that, I found out my mind was locked strictly on talking about the niche market, I had forgotten at all how marketing works >.<

The reminder that this problem isn't everyone's doesn't give me much hope at all… *sigh* And to think that the Surface Pro was such a "dream-only" device (I was thinking on buying an iPad 4 64GB plus the 13HD Cintiq, and I'd have to carry my 15.6" laptop to use the Cintiq! That adds up to more than I would really want to spend), well, if waiting is what it requires, waiting it must be (Just, Microsoft, please don't make the waiting too long :D).

There is some truth to that.  A stylus-only approach was a pain.  Touch is the way to go for 95% of what people want to do with these devices, which is why we're still sitting here waiting for a proper pen driver.  As much as we love to draw on our devices, we're still the niche market.
