Surface Pro Pen pressure sensitivity is not working in photoshop CS6. Was anyone able to get their surface pro to use the pen pressure sensitivity? In my photoshop settings when i turn on Pen Pressure for brush settings i see a yellow exclamation mark next to each settings which has to do with pen pressure. If anyone knows how to solve this problem please let me know.

Download the driver dated may 9th ...today.. install and

reboot.

    It's Adobe.  Adobe hasn't supported N-Trig pressure sensitivity for some time.  Why? Adobe says it's a "driver issue" which it's clearly not since ArtRage and Sketchbook Pro both support NTrig without any trouble.   Adobe is just being its normal Adobe self and refusing to support something its customers want because it has decided people have to it the "Adobe way" or the highway. (Often even when Adobe is doing something the wrong way *cough* EXR *cough*.)

    How does the pen respond in other photo apps? Same or worse or better? I am curious if this mainly Adobe's program not being up to snuff or more Microsoft's driver support. Do you have any other programs to test with? I left my pen at home so I cannot test. Will do so tonight.

    I asked MJ about the Wacom wintab driver explicitly and she said that what she

    published was all she could extract from the MS folks.

    "Surface Pro uses Windows Inbox Drivers and APIs (application programming interfaces) for the Surface pen, which support advanced features such as pressure sensitivity and eraser functionality. There are a number of apps in the Store that leverage these new Windows APIs and can take advantage of all that the Surface pen has to offer. The Surface pen does work with Photoshop, which runs on Surface Pro, though advanced features such as pressure sensitivity and eraser functionality may not be available at this time. Microsoft is working with the necessary partners to make advanced features of the Surface pen available across a number of applications in the near future."

    Yes, that's marketing/PR speak, but hopefully it means that they have contacted Wacom and are looking into adding Wintab API support to the digitizer drivers so that everything will work in Photoshop, Illustrator, Camera RAW, Corel Painter, Lightwave 3D, etc.  Meanwhile, yes the pressure sensitivity works great in that "Fresh Paint" app you can download.
