My Surface Book 2 i7 256gb is experiencing coil whine.

Is there anyway to get around this?

Definitely notice coil whine whenever my SB2 is plugged into charging and on high performance mode. I am concerned about this issue as I was hoping issues like these didn't come with such a high price tag.

Update 8/1/2018:

Thank you for your feedback. We have published a set of drivers and system updates which helps mitigate this issue. This is now available in Windows Update.

We recommend that you install the latest updates to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

As a temporary workaround, we suggest that when your Surface is plugged into the power supply, click on the battery icon in the Windows taskbar and set the Power Mode slider to either “Recommended” or “Better performance.”

    I wish i had the option to get a full refund. Like others i am also stuck with coil whine.

    I am glad you found this thread before you made your purchase. I wish i did.

    Maybe we should take this to Twitter to make it more public so that others can benefit from it. The Microsoft Hub is useless and I would argue Twitter would catch Microsoft attention quickest

    tbh i think its an chip issue.

    Does this suck? Yes.

    Have i lost my trust in microsoft devices after this? yes.

    Will i be bying the next surface book: probably not.

    After 4 Windows phones and still not changing because its the best environment for me, i will still not be buying andromeda.

    but the fact remains that there is nothing even close to my surface book remains.

    So I got the version 13.5 inches with core i7. After a lot of back and forward with M$ support. They agreed to change the device. BUT, be careful, because the support guy told me that, the replacement unit WILL be a refurbished device. The reason is your device is a used one. Maybe I passed 1-month return policy already. But for anyone thinking about getting the replacement, I suggested you checked on the forum. 

    I told them I will just keep the device, and come back to apple. Hopefully, they will master their skills for producing a good device, and better customer support policy. 

    So if you want to buy surfacebook 2, and don't mind about coil whining issue, go ahead. But if you do mind, wait until surface book 3 i guess :)
