My Surface Book 2 i7 256gb is experiencing coil whine.

Is there anyway to get around this?

Definitely notice coil whine whenever my SB2 is plugged into charging and on high performance mode. I am concerned about this issue as I was hoping issues like these didn't come with such a high price tag.

Update 8/1/2018:

Thank you for your feedback. We have published a set of drivers and system updates which helps mitigate this issue. This is now available in Windows Update.

We recommend that you install the latest updates to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

As a temporary workaround, we suggest that when your Surface is plugged into the power supply, click on the battery icon in the Windows taskbar and set the Power Mode slider to either “Recommended” or “Better performance.”

    ll yall's replacements (not at physical Microsoft Store, but online via advanced exchange) come in a factory sealed, retail box? Like brand new?

    soooo...  result are in.

    We are talking about a difference of 500 points in 3dmark for cpu alone....

    Actually i can borderline cofirm it. but iam unsure.

    My current Benchmark is based on cinebench and with csenabled 0 iam losing about 10 "cb" whatever that means since its a self made unit from them. i need to find something to accurately test its cpu in both nodes will keep you posted.

    Since for me this definitly is a factory fault in all of them ( i have not found a single statement that someone does not have coil whine, but only that the itensity varies (which is based on the modes, the "middle performance" mode being the one with the mouse whining too))

    Ok, thanks for the answer.

    I guess it is the CPU that makes the sound. CPU is in the Tablet-Part. Since you can almost get rid of the coil whine when you disable the TurboMode... so its pretty obvious that it is the CPU. But who wants to get rid of the extra power in TurboMode? Yes right... noone! It can maybe be a fix for working in a library.. but when i buy a 3000$+ device, I really want to use all the power it offers. I also had a lenovo 920 and it was way faster than the surface book 2 in normal mode.
