My Surface Book 2 i7 256gb is experiencing coil whine.

Is there anyway to get around this?

Definitely notice coil whine whenever my SB2 is plugged into charging and on high performance mode. I am concerned about this issue as I was hoping issues like these didn't come with such a high price tag.

Update 8/1/2018:

Thank you for your feedback. We have published a set of drivers and system updates which helps mitigate this issue. This is now available in Windows Update.

We recommend that you install the latest updates to keep your Surface performing its best. You can get updates now by checking Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

As a temporary workaround, we suggest that when your Surface is plugged into the power supply, click on the battery icon in the Windows taskbar and set the Power Mode slider to either “Recommended” or “Better performance.”

    I can confirm that it exists in battery mode also, although somewhat less noisy.

    Have you also experienced intermittent random freezes of the mouse courser,

    or SB2 as a whole, for a few seconds till it comes back functional?

    Every so often in Chrome and other applications apart from games, the freeze happens several times a day.

    How is it possible that Microsoft still have not put out a solution for this issue?! This is your flagship right?

    Have changed mine 13" Surface Book 2 512GB one time for a bad battery and high pitch coil whine. This second one have the exact same coil whine. 

    As soon as it's plugged in to the charger or the Microsoft Surface Docking Station Port Replicator V4 it makes the high pitch sound. Even when put in the energy saving mode. In the the best performance mode it's very frustrating and destroying of creativity... Working at home I always have in plugged in to the dock to use my bigger screen and so on. 

    The coil whine is also present random when surfing web/writing documents while not on the charger or always when pressed a bit harder in Photoshop, games and so on.

    Microsoft, solve this or compensate us creatives that have spent a lot of our hard earned freelance bucks on this machine and can't spare downtime or elements ruining our creativity.

    if you dont need the turbo mode, enable one of the changes above. it should give you at least more "base power" but youll max out quicker.

    but yeah i do my high performance work on battery mode high performance

    Same issue with my 13 i7/256. The first book 2 i had, I didn't notice any coil whine at all, but replaced it due to frequent BSOD. With this one, whenever I put it into intermediate - performance mode, the whine is ridculously loud. Now I just keep it in low power mode whenever I can. Almost wish I didn't replace my first one.
