Thought I'd post to see if anyone found any solution. I'm very frustrated as my now 3 month old SP7 won't output two or even one external monitors like it did before I updated in early February. Everything worked great until the update.
So, last night I went through a two hour chat and Log Me In session with Microsoft support. All they did were all the same steps I tried through all the different suggestions I was able to find on my own. Delete display and try different driver, delete
monitors and reload drivers, update dock firmware, blah, blah blah.
Without a solution I was told by Microsoft it was a compatibility issue and now I should do the Fresh Start and reload everything. What a solution.
Anyway, I tried and that failed too. Stopping after a few minutes saying unable to complete or something similar.
FYI, I aslo have a SP2017 (5) that connecting to the same dock can get one monitor at full resolution and the other stuck at 640x480. This Surface worked well to up until the update. Oh yeah and it's not the dock cause I have a second dock and I get same
results. It does have a different version of the video card, Intel Iris Plus 640 but same problem.
Anyway misery loves company and I just needed to vent. I guess my next step is to do a complete restore and see where it takes me. I really am not interested in wasting my time but not sure what else is left other than trying to return for a new machine.
Thanks for listening.
