I'd suggest you reply in that thread, but also paste the output of dxdiag in
here as a reply, maybe others can compare, etc.

Hi all.. Today after I updated my surface pro, my monitor is stuck in a 640x480 resolution. Which is no good with a 49 inch Samsung monitor. If I plug in the HDMI, it works, but, resolution is not that good like it was on the Displayport. Any tips or tricks to get it working again? For some reason it shows 'Flat Panel, 640x480' when using display port, but the samsung drivers when using HDMI.
I am using the surface dock as well. I tried the displayport of the monitor with other computers and it's working fine. Not with surface. Really need help with this one!

Is there a way to attach a document? The output of the dxdiag is too many characters
Does anyone know if Microsoft is looking into this? I can't believe my surface went from one of the best devices I own to **** in one update. My setup and monitors revolve around DisplayPort and it being stuck at 640x480 doesnt cut it.
100%. I've spent a few thousand between my surface pro 7, surface dock, and monitor (purchased through microsoft).
I'd hope they were a bit more proactive about this...
Right? And the dock... uses Mini DisplayPort... which is even more hilarious
