Monitor stuck on displayport with 640x480

Hi all.. Today after I updated my surface pro, my monitor is stuck in a 640x480 resolution. Which is no good with a 49 inch Samsung monitor. If I plug in the HDMI, it works, but, resolution is not that good like it was on the Displayport. Any tips or tricks to get it working again? For some reason it shows 'Flat Panel, 640x480' when using display port, but the samsung drivers when using HDMI. 

I am using the surface dock as well. I tried the displayport of the monitor with other computers and it's working fine. Not with surface. Really need help with this one!

    I don't have the issue with my surface dock 2 (I did with the original dock). However, I am now connected to the monitor via the usb-c ports.

    Thanks for that info. Just out of curiosity, what made you decide to use the usb-C port instead of the all-in-one surface cable? It would seem easy to use just this one cable.

    Does anyone know if this problem also exists with Surface dock 2 with Surface pro 7?

    There was Kim at the end of page 23 saying that it didn't help.

    Alastair said Dock 2 solved his problem.

    Perhaps MS can test it themselves, and if Dock 2 really solves the problem, they should offer replacement or discount for Dock 1 users stuck with this.

    I'd be satisfied with that resolution. I am still running only one monitor on my two monitor stand. When I need the two monitors, I switch back to my Surface Pro 5.
