I am currently using a USB-C to HDMI to run my external monitor (singular monitor). My beef is that I bought the Surface Dock (upgraded from the SP3 dock) when I bought the SP7 and I can't run dual monitors through the display ports. I understand that the new Surface Dock 2 may solve that issue, but that wasn't released with the SP7 and they advertised dual monitor suport with the then current dock - so, I feel like I've been had. My SP5 works just fine to run dual monitors with the dock. To be honest, I'd be satisfied if they just traded my Dock for the Dock 2, but really this is a driver issue not a hardware issue that needs to be resolved...
Monitor stuck on displayport with 640x480
Hi all.. Today after I updated my surface pro, my monitor is stuck in a 640x480 resolution. Which is no good with a 49 inch Samsung monitor. If I plug in the HDMI, it works, but, resolution is not that good like it was on the Displayport. Any tips or tricks to get it working again? For some reason it shows 'Flat Panel, 640x480' when using display port, but the samsung drivers when using HDMI.
I am using the surface dock as well. I tried the displayport of the monitor with other computers and it's working fine. Not with surface. Really need help with this one!

2021-02-27T18:09:12+00:00 Exchange probably won't solve the issue......
So the older driver did not solve the problem for you at all? And you've tried a
wipe and reimage?-
There are not a lot of people still reporting this issue so they would recommend
an exchange if you tried a reimage and tried the officially recommended Surface
USB-C to DisplayPort Adapter for Business and failed to resolve the problem.
Microsoft is currently out of stock, but Amazon seems to have it
https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Surface-Type-C-DisplayPort-Adapter/dp/B07G4FJTGJ/The old driver causes freezes in software like Blender, so I need to use recent versions.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/surface-usb-c-to-hdmi-adapter/94chb2m80s54?rtc=1
and a high quality HDMI 2.0 cable to see if that resolves the issue. Honestly, I
see all the reported issues with both the original and Dock 2 that customers are
reporting, and all I can suggest is for those afflicted to use the Feedback Hub
app to report these issues in detail. They aren't going to scrape this forum for
info and details, if, indeed it is something that can be fixed with
drivers/firmware. -

Did you include all this information in detail in the problem report you filed

2021-03-03T17:45:14+00:00 It's a lost cause. We've given up and won't be buying any more. Over 50% of the fleet we bought has issues and being replaced (not just for display issues, battery, keyboard connector, boot loops, RGB lines on screen), and the replacements have had other issues. They obviously know it's a bad device which is why the Pro 7+ was released. I'd love to hear whether 7+ is any better, but, won't be buying any.
Want to know too, if anyone who has a 7+ to test if it exhibits the same issue on the same setup.
Because we know it's fine on SP6 and other devices, and also on SP7 with an old revision and working (but buggy elsewhere) firmware.
Cheers.
