Monitor stuck on displayport with 640x480

Hi all.. Today after I updated my surface pro, my monitor is stuck in a 640x480 resolution. Which is no good with a 49 inch Samsung monitor. If I plug in the HDMI, it works, but, resolution is not that good like it was on the Displayport. Any tips or tricks to get it working again? For some reason it shows 'Flat Panel, 640x480' when using display port, but the samsung drivers when using HDMI. 

I am using the surface dock as well. I tried the displayport of the monitor with other computers and it's working fine. Not with surface. Really need help with this one!

    HI All

    I am not even remotely an expert on Windows but this is exactly what happened to me yesterday!  

    It is very frustrating because I rely on my external monitor for work.

    I hope MS fix this issue quickly

    PS.  I note there is a "fix" by finding an older MSI file and installing it but this is beyond my technical abilities.!

    Hope this helps others as there is still silence from Surface

    Here is the December 2019 bundle for Surface Pro 7. It should include the drivers

    Here is the November 2019 Surface Laptop 3 Intel:

    Just extract all the files with something like: msiexec /a c:\testfile.msi /qb TARGETDIR=c:\temp\test

    and then install the graphic drivers manually.

    Hello Barb,

    I was able to find an old msi package for the surface drivers that included 25.20.100.7101 version. After completely deleting the device from device manager and uninstalling drivers.. rebooting, then installing the 25.20.100.7101, my external monitors are working as expected..
