Monitor stuck on displayport with 640x480

Hi all.. Today after I updated my surface pro, my monitor is stuck in a 640x480 resolution. Which is no good with a 49 inch Samsung monitor. If I plug in the HDMI, it works, but, resolution is not that good like it was on the Displayport. Any tips or tricks to get it working again? For some reason it shows 'Flat Panel, 640x480' when using display port, but the samsung drivers when using HDMI. 

I am using the surface dock as well. I tried the displayport of the monitor with other computers and it's working fine. Not with surface. Really need help with this one!

    This reply solved my problem! As soon as I enabled DisplayPort 1.2 setting on the Dell U2414H display, my Surface Pro 7 can recognize it and use the desired 1920 x 1080 resolution.

    For those of you who curious about how to enable DisplayPort 1.2 setting on the display  I watched this video

    to find out how  (press 3rd button from the left to access the on-display menu). Also this manual (page 33) shows well how to use these buttons.

    Glad I don't need to try rolling back the Intel graphic driver or buying another USB-C display cable. Note that I did finish the two things mentioned in page 1 of this thread (clear cache and update firmware of the docking station). Had no luck but not sure if those eventually work in conjunction with the DisplayPort 1.2 setting.

    I am not using surface dock and have exactly the same issue. Tried everything.

    Ran into this problem this AM Surfacebook 2 and an older dock with mini DP headers, after installing the latest Windows 20H2 OS Build 19042.928, both my external monitors work at 1440p (stuck at 480p before update). Hope this helps some folks here

    I can't believe I opened this ticket over a year ago and nothing so far.. This should be a easy fix. People have even said what it was and corrected actions to fix. Microsoft... Silence... Good lord people please fix this already.

    I think the shame is on Intel. The drivers are directly Intel drivers and they were working fine to December 2019, after that, they stopped working. Have no idea why MS cannot push the partner and force them to fix it. Even if this is hardware issue, whatever, it should be fixed in drivers.

    Partially, the shame on MS as it was not tested enough before it went to the surface driver update. Anyway, even without MS update, you can download new drivers from Intel and have the same issue, so it is somehow orthogonal.
