Hi all.. Today after I updated my surface pro, my monitor is stuck in a 640x480 resolution. Which is no good with a 49 inch Samsung monitor. If I plug in the HDMI, it works, but, resolution is not that good like it was on the Displayport. Any tips or tricks to get it working again? For some reason it shows 'Flat Panel, 640x480' when using display port, but the samsung drivers when using HDMI.
I am using the surface dock as well. I tried the displayport of the monitor with other computers and it's working fine. Not with surface. Really need help with this one!

It is really sad that microsoft doesn't solve this problem. More than 1 year later and still exists... I will have to stop buying microsoft products. Why can't they just give us the older driver so we could atleast use the external monitors?
Probably, this isn't affecting an enough number of customers and so they just pretend the problem doesn't exist.
Unless you're Joe or Donald and complain about it publicly, I guess.

Yea something wrong with the dock. But on direct Type C to HDMI, I could get 1,920x1,080 resolution.

I've given up. Things have gotten more stable with recent firmwares, and endless updates. I even hear the "windows jumping around monitors" is a fix planned for the next Windows major release. Let's hope so. Compared to other brands, the Microsoft experience has been terrible.

Know whats amazing? This was identified as a issue before the pandemic. Here we are almost a year and a half later and still... Broken. Microsoft must seriously love their products
