Hi all.. Today after I updated my surface pro, my monitor is stuck in a 640x480 resolution. Which is no good with a 49 inch Samsung monitor. If I plug in the HDMI, it works, but, resolution is not that good like it was on the Displayport. Any tips or tricks to get it working again? For some reason it shows 'Flat Panel, 640x480' when using display port, but the samsung drivers when using HDMI.

I am using the surface dock as well. I tried the displayport of the monitor with other computers and it's working fine. Not with surface. Really need help with this one!

Just had a new 7+ business (i7, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD) arrive and now today when I disconnected my Surface Book 2 and plugged it into my Surface dock, which is connected to a LG 49" monitor I have this issue.

The driver version I have is 27.20.100.8853.

Does the new Surface Dock 2 resolve this issue?

Thanks for the info. We get more help here from fellow users than from Microsoft.

    Nice weekend.

No, it didn't solve the problem. I was able to install an older version two months ago. This older version worked well. But today an update was installed by windows and now I have the same problem. Unfortunately, my workaround does not work anymore.

It's a lost cause. We've given up and won't be buying any more. Over 50% of the fleet we bought has issues and being replaced (not just for display issues, battery, keyboard connector, boot loops, RGB lines on screen), and the replacements have had other issues. They obviously know it's a bad device which is why the Pro 7+ was released. I'd love to hear whether 7+ is any better, but, won't be buying any.

Want to know too, if anyone who has a 7+ to test if it exhibits the same issue on the same setup.

Because we know it's fine on SP6 and other devices, and also on SP7 with an old revision and working (but buggy elsewhere) firmware.

    Cheers.

The old driver causes freezes in software like Blender, so I need to use recent versions.

Did you include all this information in detail in the problem report you filed
