I downloaded and installed a Microsoft certified monthly update. It broke my dual external monitor setup.
Monitor stuck on displayport with 640x480
Hi all.. Today after I updated my surface pro, my monitor is stuck in a 640x480 resolution. Which is no good with a 49 inch Samsung monitor. If I plug in the HDMI, it works, but, resolution is not that good like it was on the Displayport. Any tips or tricks to get it working again? For some reason it shows 'Flat Panel, 640x480' when using display port, but the samsung drivers when using HDMI.
I am using the surface dock as well. I tried the displayport of the monitor with other computers and it's working fine. Not with surface. Really need help with this one!

2020-04-24T22:32:05+00:00 We've been patient, but I'm still feeling a little cheated that there isn't a resolution to the issue. What did you change/break on the Surface Pro 7 that makes this such an issue?

2020-04-24T20:12:39+00:00 University Prof who has used a Surface Pro 3 with external monitors at work and at home with no problems for over 4.5 years, using the original dock at work and the newer dock at home. Forced to work from home and relying on the SP3, when I realized that the screen was releasing from the frame so I rushed out and bought a Surface Pro 7. I cannot get it to work with my external monitor (Samsung U28D590) with the new dock via DP and HDMI. Tried a USB-C to HDMI cable also. Neither the dock/DP nor dock/HDMI nor USB-C/HDMI work. Sometimes it displays for a minute or two and then the monitor goes haywire. I rely on the 2nd monitor for my work, particularly for instruction which is all online currently. Please help.

2020-04-22T19:20:22+00:00 Hi Bryan
I am having the same issue on a brand new Surface Laptop 3 with the surface dock. Worked fine for my SP4.
Got the Laptop, updated and dock is bricked. Fustrating to have bought the laptop right when the issue was created.

As of today, that's 40 days. And that is just when you posted an official reply to the issue, not when it was reported.
