Monitor stuck on displayport with 640x480

Hi all.. Today after I updated my surface pro, my monitor is stuck in a 640x480 resolution. Which is no good with a 49 inch Samsung monitor. If I plug in the HDMI, it works, but, resolution is not that good like it was on the Displayport. Any tips or tricks to get it working again? For some reason it shows 'Flat Panel, 640x480' when using display port, but the samsung drivers when using HDMI. 

I am using the surface dock as well. I tried the displayport of the monitor with other computers and it's working fine. Not with surface. Really need help with this one!

    Since I was using a SP7 (and needed to use an external monitor) I have used my company's Docking station (Work from home take your peripherals home situation) which uses USB-C. Not exactly a fix, but my Surface Dock is decorative. 

    Pretty **** Since this has gone on for MONTHS.

    Downgraded to old Driver package on my surface laptop3.

    still waiting for MS to fix ... 

    IF WE WOULD JUST GET AN UPDATE ABOUT THE STATUS... is that too much to ask for? :/

    No resolution here. I have one monitor that works and one power off and blank. Very frustrating especially since is my home setup and have been working at home for past 5+ weeks. This goes back to early February as an issue for me.

    Just wondering, have others in this thread had your problem solved already? Am I the only one with the external monitor still sitting as a desk deco?

    Just found out another problem with the Dock, or my particular setup...

    When I create or open a file using Affinity Photo, the app will freeze, and immediately after the dock is yanked, the app unfreeze.

    Just when will MS issue a proper fix......

    Sigh.
