No, the Dutch retailer refused repair. I had not time to bring it to court. But it sucks.
Screen Cracked Without Being Used: Surface Book 2
Hi Community
I've just opened up my 3 week old surface book 2 and found a crack in the glass from the upper left hand side across to the bottom right hand side of the screen. I am baffled and horrified as to how this could have happened!! I used the laptop yesterday, as both a laptop and a tablet. No crack. Closed it carefully and put it in a sleeve and left flat on the table. Opened up today and find a significant crack! I'm at a loss for words and explanation as to how this could happen. It was not used or touched by anyone/thing. The crack is only visible from an angle and does not interfere with the display.
Has this happened to anyone else' surface product? Should I put tempered glass on the screen? So worried that more cracks will appear. I was planning to purchase a surface pen today. Now I'm concerned that the pen will add further damage the screen. Is there any explanation for how the screen can crack without use?
Thanks for any insight.
Ruby

2022-05-04T13:50:09+00:00 It is the biggest POS electronic device I have ever thought possible to own. My screen now has several hairline cracks all that come from picking it up as you would a normal laptop, in spite of how incredibly careful I've been picking it up and carrying it since the first crack appeared. It's now constantly reattaching itself (in the middle of my using it as a laptop), in spite of me not having detached it in the first place, which leaves me with periods of time where my traditional keyboard is inaccessible and I'm left with only a touch screen. The power cord is constantly breaking and needing to be replaced, it's getting frozen in sleep mode now and forcing regular restarts. Meanwhile, my 12 year old macbook pro is still functioning just fine. UGHHHH!!! Did I mention that 2 of my children have surface devices and both are riddled with problems as well??!!
