Surface Pro 7 Slow WiFi

Hello everyone,

I am working with my new Surface Pro 7 i5 one or two days now and unfortunately, I still have severe wifi issues after installing all updates. Speed is between 0 and 1,250 kbit/s.

After searching for this issue, I found several entries describing this kind of problem and some workarounds like setting the MIMO Power Safe Mode to a different value. (as described here) I did all this but still, there is no improvement.

Any other suggestions on this? Is this a known bug? Is there a patch on its way? Is Microsoft working on this?

Any help is greatly appreaciated.

Thanks a lot

Tim

Want to chime in that I have the same issue and first identified it in the first day I owned mine because I was moving files from my network share to my new SP7.

Every time I use it I have to disconnect wifi, wait a few seconds, then reconnect to my Ubiquiti/Unifi brand network.   I still think on occasion its slowing down while in use.

Anyway, if I don't do the above procedure I am stuck at around 15megabits/sec on my 480 megabit connection line of sight to an accesspoint.

I am still in my return period.. I need a real solution before my return period ends or this is going back. I'm not dealing with this for the life of my product.

I too have an SP7 and a unifi setup (usg P, HD ap and two UAPs, cloudkey and 5 various unifi switches) with zero issues. If you have fast roaming on, switch it off, and i leave

running controller 5.13.9 and devices on 4.2.0.1 and also have band steering off) i have no issues on a 380/3imbps cable connection. I have no issues, so I would look an unifi to make sure its good. I also have DPI and IPS on.

So sorry to hear. I know how frustrating it is! I gave up after weeks of trying to get some idea what they were going to do about it. I escalated 3 levels up and couldnt get any answers about this. Support told me to return it when I Pushed for when it would be fixed. i returned it and got an HP Spectre 360x 2 in 1 and I love it. Havent had a single problem. Folds to be a tablet and is Same weight. good luck to you!

Having same issue. Occurring after waking up from sleep (which in a laptop like this that is always put in sleep, ends up being always).

I reinstalled driver with no improvement.
