Surface Pro 7 Slow WiFi

Hello everyone,

I am working with my new Surface Pro 7 i5 one or two days now and unfortunately, I still have severe wifi issues after installing all updates. Speed is between 0 and 1,250 kbit/s.

After searching for this issue, I found several entries describing this kind of problem and some workarounds like setting the MIMO Power Safe Mode to a different value. (as described here) I did all this but still, there is no improvement. 

Any other suggestions on this? Is this a known bug? Is there a patch on its way? Is Microsoft working on this?

Any help is greatly appreaciated.

    I had the same problem.  What we found was the site you are doing your speed test through was the problem for me.  Once I changed to a different speed test site I was showing proper speeds of 165mbs.

    After updating wifi is fine but ethernet input is not identified by surface. New Problem 😣

    I had the same problem.  What we found was the site you are doing your speed test through was the problem for me.  Once I changed to a different speed test site I was showing proper speeds of 165mbs.

    While it is important to be sure we are measuring the problem correctly, the choice of speed test site was certainly not the problem for me (and I suspect not the problem for others).

    Not only did I see the issue manifest on various speed test sites, I could see limited bandwidth reported by Task Manager and in reported download speeds in game clients. When changing wifi adapter settings as a workaround, I could see reported bandwidth improve immediately for all of the above.

    That being said, it's not clear that my issue was the same as the original post. At the time, this was the best thread that I could find related to the issue I was having, and the source of the original workaround that got my speeds back up (for a while).

    Overall, I think it's clear that the Microsoft-supplied driver for the Surface Pro 7 wifi adapter is buggy. I think it would go a long way toward customer satisfaction if Microsoft could bundle an updated driver in a Surface Pro 7 firmware update as soon as possible. After all, it's a premium device that should have premium driver support.

    installing Drivers from Intel using https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html help solve my problem
