Surface Pro 7 Slow WiFi

Hello everyone,

I am working with my new Surface Pro 7 i5 one or two days now and unfortunately, I still have severe wifi issues after installing all updates. Speed is between 0 and 1,250 kbit/s.

After searching for this issue, I found several entries describing this kind of problem and some workarounds like setting the MIMO Power Safe Mode to a different value. (as described here) I did all this but still, there is no improvement. 

Any other suggestions on this? Is this a known bug? Is there a patch on its way? Is Microsoft working on this?

Any help is greatly appreaciated.

    Following up on this... I continue to see this issue, so I no longer think that the particular settings that I changed make a difference. When I encountered the issue again, I changed the "Throughput Booster" setting back to Disabled, and I got higher speeds. Now I'm guessing that just the process of changing an adapter setting resets the WiFi adapter so that it starts working properly again.

    There is a driver update available from Intel.

    21.90.3.2 for AX201/AX200/9560/9260/9462/9461 (Only available in 64-bit version)

    I'm giving it a shot to see if it resolves my issue permanently.

    The release notes have a line item: "Reduced Wi-Fi throughput on specific channel."

    I'm hopeful.

    I have not had to reset settings as before. I haven't noticed any abnormal slowdown in download speeds. I'm not aware of any other issues. So far, so good.

    OK, Just downloaded the wifi driver and the bluetooth driver.  we'll see if there's any improvement. This morning I had 320MB/sec+ and this afternoon 24Mb/sec - the usual pattern.  Fingers crossed!
