Surface Pro 7 Slow WiFi

Hello everyone,

I am working with my new Surface Pro 7 i5 one or two days now and unfortunately, I still have severe wifi issues after installing all updates. Speed is between 0 and 1,250 kbit/s.

After searching for this issue, I found several entries describing this kind of problem and some workarounds like setting the MIMO Power Safe Mode to a different value. (as described here) I did all this but still, there is no improvement. 

Any other suggestions on this? Is this a known bug? Is there a patch on its way? Is Microsoft working on this?

Any help is greatly appreaciated.

    I think I've made headway on this. I moved and in my new house, with a new router and people, I believe it was that QoS was setup on the old router and enabled on my wifi service on the surface. I don't have QoS set now and I get full speed on wifi. Hope this helps.

    I hope you're right, I have had many false dawns.  

    Just checked mine again - 22MB/sec........sigh.   

    I can "touch" virtually any parameter on the router or the driver and I will be at 370MB/sec for a short period.  But it never lasts.

    Microsoft, apparently has no interest in solving this problem. If I need speed I haul out my old 3 year old, $250 Acer core i3 laptop which manages > 300MB/sec constantly.  Pretty "funny".

    Exact same scenario for me. Sitting at my Surface with my Samsung S20+. The Surface get 32 MBPS down, the phone gets 200 MBPS. Upload is 5 MBPS for both which is limit on Xfinity.

    Hello from Japan.

    I have same issue on Surface Pro 7 Core i7. I performed the throughput test using iperf3 between surface pro and other Windows10 PC via buffalo WXR-5950AX12(WiFi 6 AP) as result below.

    As others have reported, the problem does not occur with IEEE 802.11n settings. The problem only occurs with 5GHz IEEE 802.11ax or 11ac.

    Of course, the performance of Surface Pro 7 cannot be demonstrated with the IEEE802.11n setting. Microsoft should recognize and resolve this issue as soon as possible... ![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/f5c2548f-249c-43c7-a063-c869b2ff8e2b?platform=QnA

    Had a "systems update" the other day.  I thought "I bet Microsoft has fixed this issue on the surface 7".  Checked my wifi speed and it's........tada!  22.8MB/sec.

    Pathetic................
