Surface Pro 7 Slow WiFi

Hello everyone,

I am working with my new Surface Pro 7 i5 one or two days now and unfortunately, I still have severe wifi issues after installing all updates. Speed is between 0 and 1,250 kbit/s.

After searching for this issue, I found several entries describing this kind of problem and some workarounds like setting the MIMO Power Safe Mode to a different value. (as described here) I did all this but still, there is no improvement. 

Any other suggestions on this? Is this a known bug? Is there a patch on its way? Is Microsoft working on this?

Any help is greatly appreaciated.

    With the disclaimer that it's early days, I have now had 24 hours at high speed.  It looks like there's a problem with the wifi6 protocol. I changed 802.11ax to 802.11ac and SO FAR I have not had a 20MB/sec speedtest with about ten tries over 24 hours. Fingers crossed again.

    Scratch this: 20MB/sec again. Ugh.........

    I just edited 802.11ac back to 802.11ax and the speed is back up!  It seems like ANYTHING I touch in the properties of the Intel driver gets the speed back for a period of time.

    Thanks, I poked around in my router and there aren't many user adjustable features. Certainly none like those you mentioned.

    The only other thing is the router, what make and model and what settings do you have. Im working in Saudi at the moment and my unifi setup is in uk. From memory mine are.

    smart queues off

    band steering off

    wifi optimization on

    DPI on

    IPS on

    DTG 2

    I spent a couple of hours with Microsoft support tonight, reloading everything and it's brother.  End result: usual story, initially 300MB/sec+ and now 20-ish MB/sec.
