Surface Pro 7 Slow WiFi

Hello everyone,

I am working with my new Surface Pro 7 i5 one or two days now and unfortunately, I still have severe wifi issues after installing all updates. Speed is between 0 and 1,250 kbit/s.

After searching for this issue, I found several entries describing this kind of problem and some workarounds like setting the MIMO Power Safe Mode to a different value. (as described here) I did all this but still, there is no improvement. 

Any other suggestions on this? Is this a known bug? Is there a patch on its way? Is Microsoft working on this?

Any help is greatly appreaciated.

    My network is also very slow compared to my Pro 6 side by side doing the same thing. Chat support was awesome and took over the computer but could not fix it. So they sent me another device and I'm having the same issue. So I went in and manually updated the Intel AX 201 driver. What I finally noticed was my 5g wifi has downloads of 135 Mbps but when I switch to 2g, it plummets to 11. I'm using the speed test on Bing.

    I have not had any wifi issues with my SP7 for some time. I can though recommend the Plugable USB 2.5Gbe adapter, for £30 (from Amazon) if you have a compatible switch its a great purchase. I also bought the QNAP 5Gbe adapter, but the difference in transfer speeds means its hard to justify the increase in price (£100).

    plugable gives a reliable 260 MBps while the Qnap gives around 330MBps. 

    i wouldnt go back to wifi unless i had to.

    I installed a usb wifi nic and the problem went away. Not happy about this as the problem is clearly in the hardware.
