Yeah - I saw that in your comments. Does this go away if you swap to battery saver or high performance on battery (either end of the performance slider)? That fixes this for me, which is the oddest thing.
Surface Book 2 Trackpad and Keyboard Lag
Hi. I have a brand new, i7 256 Surface Book 2 with an annoying problem. The trackpad and keyboard both exhibit huge lag when running on battery power, with anything less than "Better Performance". Even then, it's not perfect unless you go for the 'Best Performance' setting.
When running in battery mode, it's easy to appreciate that more people might be using the trackpad rather than a mouse (for portability) so why this won't function properly on the lower power saving modes, is confusing to say the least. One would expect the keyboard to work cum-what-may.
I've never experienced this issue with my Surface Pros and feel rather disappointed given the cost or the Book 2.
Any fixes please, other than disabling the two-finger pinch to zoom function?

Yes, that's the behavior I'm seeing. It happens with mine while plugged in as well, but very seldom. But on battery life on anything but "Best battery life" or "Best performance," it's constant and sometimes makes the notebook impossible to use.

2018-02-01T20:34:56+00:00 I'm having similar keyboard lag on the Surface Pro 4 in certain circumstances (eg. using the Mail and Calender app, or typing in this text box right here in Edge). When running on battery in Recommended mode, the keyboard lags a couple of seconds behind what I'm typing. Setting to Battery Saver mode resolves this. What I've noticed is that the CPU seems to rest around 0.5 GHz in Recommended mode and doesn't spike too much higher when typing. However, in Battery Saver mode, it's resting at 0.6 GHz and ramps up when typing to much higher levels than it does in Recommended mode. I wonder if there's something up with how it scales CPU frequencies in Recommended mode.
