Okay, so battery powered. That's when I detected the lag. $3500 for a flaw like that is very disappointing. I've had mine less than a week. I hadn't even considered the different between battery powered and plugged in. Could be.

Hi. I have a brand new, i7 256 Surface Book 2 with an annoying problem. The trackpad and keyboard both exhibit huge lag when running on battery power, with anything less than "Better Performance". Even then, it's not perfect unless you go for the 'Best Performance' setting.
When running in battery mode, it's easy to appreciate that more people might be using the trackpad rather than a mouse (for portability) so why this won't function properly on the lower power saving modes, is confusing to say the least. One would expect the keyboard to work cum-what-may.
I've never experienced this issue with my Surface Pros and feel rather disappointed given the cost or the Book 2.
Any fixes please, other than disabling the two-finger pinch to zoom function?

2018-07-14T11:56:03+00:00 I tried this, it did solve the problem but caused many others for me since the stream isn't stable enough yet. In the process of rolling back, I opted to just do a full reinstall/system restore and it seems to have fixed all of my issues.

2018-07-07T00:24:38+00:00 I got fed up with the lag and with some intermittant OS freezes that were happening. Took my sb2 to the microsoft store and swapped it out with a different one. New machine doesn’t have the lag problem.
Hardware problem?

2018-07-07T00:09:31+00:00 I'm in the same boat. The spring 2018 update almost squashed it but now I'm running a "Redstone 5 build" you get in the "Insider Program" slow mode. I no longer have the issue at all very happy to say.

2018-07-03T18:05:41+00:00 Same issue here with my 15" SB2 :( and also noticed battery saver or best performance has an immediate effect.
On a side note, I am glad I no longer have the GPU disconnecting issue... for now.
Come on Microsoft, it's a freaking $3K laptop
