If the device stays idle for a minute it directly shuts down. I have checked all the sleep and power settings and that's not an issue. I see this was an issue in previous versions too. **Any fix?**There are some answers to this which might have worked for some (marked as answer), but definitely not for everyone. If you face it, I strongly recommend returning it as the stress during this whole process is ridiculous and not worth it.
UPDATE:
After going through returning and rebuying 4 surface pro 7 devices (thanks to Costco). I decided to ditch it. The worst part is that Costco has essentially banned me from buying any laptops from them, even though I repeatedly told them that the devices were having issues. I just loved the device for its utility and I really wanted it to work out. Microsoft and Costco should beashamed** of this.
The first 3 devices were returned in <1-2 months. The 4th one stayed longest (3 months), not because it was perfect but because of the pandemic. I loved the device in general. I was hoping I would not have problems with the 4th device. I did not have the random shutdowns but I started having

Hello everybody.
I bought my device ( i7, 16G, 256) on January 26th from Germany, it worked fine for about 2 weeks then random shutdown started after that. I noticed that shutdown occurs while the keyboard is attached and No random shutdown while the keyboard is removed.
Yesterday after reading the post I installed intel Graphics command centre and followed the steps, after that till now No random shutdown with the keyboard attached.
I think the problem is fixed. I was convinced from the start that it is a window bug not a hardware error because it only happens with the Keyboard attached and no shutdown while using without the keyboard.
Have any one tried to remove the keyboard, using it without the keyboard and noticed random shutdown while idle ??
I would have been keen to try the Intel graphics command centre fix but instead Microsoft just replaced my surface. Interested to hear if the fix worked for anyone else!
It seems to have worked for me for now. Time will tell.

Wow thanks everyone who's posted about this apparent solution! My new device should arrive in a few days from Microsoft and this will be the first thing I try. Will post again once complete..
I'm going to have to say you found the fix or found the person who found the fix. I just got mine today and this is the only thing that has worked so far and does make some sense. The device doesn't fully restart the screen just goes black and you have to reset it to see it.
