Hi,
I updated my surface book 2 (13 - i7 - 1050) today from the build 1809 to 1909 with all updates/firmware.
I have noticed that the behavior of the fans has changed. My laptop got a lot noiser during load and even audible at idle.
Now the fans are extremely noisy/loud at load even when i'm changing the power modes (slider)
For example, on the previous build 1809, I was playing Witcher 3 in better performance mode and fan noise was perfectly acceptable.
Now regardless of the power mode, the fans are very loud.
I don't think i'm the only one with this problem.
Some examples :
The only solution found by the community is to restore a previous version ( build 1809 whose support will end at the end of the year).
I would like microsoft provide a real answer other than launching their diagnostic tool and i hope they will record it as an issue in order to follow the resolution. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4055398/surface-book-2-update-history
And if someone has an idea / solution I am interested ! Thx.
Regards,
Frederic

Thanks! I think this helped me too.
k as with me my surface was a lemon I requested a refund Microsoft refused and wanted to give me $400 refurbish for a $1200 device
but
If there is a major failure with goods, you can choose to:
so far they are failing.
the money they received was given to them by federal government and so supplying me goods of lesser value may be considered fraud
there is no where on site that states that refund is not available
the surface was faulty when bought
it will update all old drivers itis free and works.
but at the present it has placed a bug into chrome where it freezes and google is aware of it so do a updat e into it
Hey guys, disabling "Game Mode" seems to have worked for mine. I found this suggestion on Reddit from last year, and thought it would be worth a try:
"I read somewhere on Forbes that the May Windows 10 update screwed up a lot of communication/compatibility with BOTH Nvidia GeForce and Intel core refresh rates. They fixed this by disabling Game Mode in Windows Settings (Settings --> Gaming --> Game Mode) at the sacrifice of framerates. This isn't a great fix, and the article (which I'll add later today) also says that Microsoft has NOT set a timeline for fixing it yet."
Oh my God! It works! Thank you so much for sharing!
