Would there be any information on when at&t will whitelist the Surface Due 2 to enable 5G wireless?

Thanks

Tom

AT&T has updated their document to indicate 5G is supported on Surface Duo 2

    I've been playing with T-Mobile with a one-month 2.5GB plan.

    • SD2 connects at 5G in more places than AT&T has 5G on my wife's iPhone.
    • It is screamingly fast. I did a speedtest.net test with their app and got like 607mbs down.

Caution: That test seems to cost 1GB of data.

I'm ready to switch carriers as soon as I can get the rest of the family on board with moving.

I am not affiliated with either AT&T or T-Mobile.

While the Duo 2 supports 5G, at&t needs to allow it. They publish a "whitelist":

https://www.att.com/idpassets/images/support/wireless/Service-Capabilities-Unlocked-Devices-ATT-Network.pdf The current version dated 15DEC21 shows that at&t has only enabled Duo 2 for only HD Voice and Wi-Fi Calling. You can observe that at&t has enabled 5G for many other phones (i.e., Galaxy S21 FE).

My Duo 2 does have an at&t 5G sim. The "at&t tech" stated that they only have 5G sims in stock.

I was hoping that MS would have some "intel" as to when at&t will enable Duo 2 5G on their network.

    Hi Thomas Talley,

Surface Duo 2 does support 5G on AT&T's wireless network. You may need to contact AT&T to make sure you are using a compatible SIM card.

    Thank you

This is a volunteer user-to-user help forum. It would be best to contact AT&T and ask them when it will happen.
