Earlier comments about the charger being too bulky for the SP2 are interesting. We do need a reality check though.
The brick used to power my laptop is far more bulky and on battery my laptop doesn't give me any more time to use than the SP2.
So for me, the SP2's off the shelf power adapter is lighter, smaller than my laptop. Using my SP2 in lieu of a laptop especially when traveling is a no brainer. 8 pounds vs 2.
The car charger for the SP2 works fine too. Of course it is yet another charger to travel with but if there will be a lot of time in the car its worth having deep in the bag somewhere.
I would never use the SP2 as a gps or an always on device next to me in the car though. There's enough going on to avoid speed traps and reckless drivers, not to mention those texting (amazing to see people young and old on interstates drifting and when
you pull up you see they are deeply focused on texting... its nuts).
The near-instant-on/off of the SP2, the full Windows everything works fast and smooth environment, and the smaller, lighter, sleeker power adapter make this the best solution for real worker bees like us in lieu of a monster laptop.
Add a vga adapter to home or office monitor (if you don't have a dock at office), and the Cover 2 keyboard (which is one of the nicest feels, consistently accurate typing surfaces I've ever used short of a Think Outside foldout keyboard that's no longer
made), make this a really nice experience.
